Cross Country

Cross-country running may be an acquired taste, but those who get it into it are usually hooked for life. Its also excellent stamina training in the build up to the track & field season.
Taunton AC is affiliated to the Gwent Cross-country League (5 races) & cater for U11s through to Seniors/Vets. Fixtures are on Sunday (some Saturday) afternoons at various venues from 1hr to 2 hours drive away. We try to provide some minibus transport for junior members. The courses vary greatly, from flat & dry, to hilly & muddy, forest & field, & there is a great camaraderie amongst the runners.
What could be more fun than running through rivers and getting muddy! The XC season runs from October through to March & fixtures vary from League, Championship & Open events.

Forthcoming XC event dates see XC Fictures page or download full TAC Autumn-Winter 2011-12 Calendar. Please do not wait to be asked to compete. The XC Team managers would like to hear from all available athletes for the Gwent League & other XC competitions.
