SPORTSHALL ATHLETICS

This is a great introduction to the sport for the first timer and for the young athlete & offers training & competition opportunities in a safe and warm environment. Running, jumping, throwing & agility events are adapted for indoor use.

It is particularly popular with the U11 & U13 age groups.

Sportshall Athletics Competitions: There is opportunity for athletes in school years 5 & 6 (U11’s)  school years 7 & 8 (U13) & school years (9 & 10) to compete in the annual county sportshall competitions leading on to the regional Fun in Athletics Festivals &  Regional Championship which take place between December to March.

Well done to all those juniors who atteneded the trials for the upcoming Inter Counties Sportshall Events. The following have been selected fro the next stage:
Y5: Evie O’Brien, Rhiannon Lee, Lewis Mahdy, Skyla Coates, Maya Jones, Hectore Innes, Saxun Stuart-Taylor

The Inter Counties Sports Hall Competition will follow on 3rd Feb 2013 to be held at Uni of West of England, Bristol

Years7/8 Inter Counties Sports Hall Competition will be on 2nd March 2013 at Torquay.  Athletes will be selected for this and informed in due course - details to follow.
