Level 1 - Officials Courses . These give a chance for parents to become more involved and earn points for the club without athletic effort ! Taunton AC regularly hosts Level 1 officials courses for parents at the club. The course will qualify participants to assist more experienced officials at league fixtures and open meetings. In league fixtures clubs earn points not just for athlete performances, but also for supplying the correct number of officials. Helping out can help the club gain valuable points.

Higher Level Officials Courses:
The Level 2 Officials Course is for individuals who wish to become a qualified Athletics Official. This course will develop your knowledge and skills of officiating and will enable participants to specialise in an event discipline:
Timekeeping Official / Starter/Marksman Official / Track Official / Field Official
Assessment is based on knowledge of the rules and also the application of the knowledge, experience and competence in practical officiating. The Level 2 Course costs roughly £10 (which may be subsidised by either your club/county if you are prepared to be a volunteer at club/county events.
