12th Dec. 2010 : Bath University. Twenty Athletes from Taunton AC competed in the 2010 Somerset Cross Country Championships (combined race with Avon & Wilts Champs) at Bath Uni. Three TAC members took Somerset Age group titles with a further 
three in silver medal positions, including Somerset Champs Golds for Luke Scott in SenMen, Blair Brown for U17M, and Harriet Rogers U17W; with Silvers for Alex Rogers U20M; Rachel Langbein U17W; Holly Brown U15G and Joe Walton U15B. October 2010:Sunday 24th : Congratulations to TAC's Luke Scott 3rd in the tough 16M multiterrain Exmoor Stagger and Simon Cooper 2nd in the 6M Exmoor Stumble. For the full Stagger & Stumble results click here.
The Minehead 3 mile series kicked off early October with Keith Paul recording 17.19, Alice Watson 20.48 and Rachel Langbein on her heels in 20.52 (click here for Full results)

September 2010:Taunton 10 K September 2010: TAUNTON AC had yet another outstanding turnout for our local Taunton 10k. Many PB s went tumbling, with many months of hard work coming to fruition. 1st home was Luke Scott 32.
15, A stunning PB, taking off over a minute from last years time.
A sprint to the line between team mates Tom Bloodworth 35.15 (PB) in 11th and Richard Caburn 35.16 in 12th made for great watching. ...read more here..

SWAL Track & Field - Taunton miss Southwest League Division 2010 title by a whisker to Cornwall AC , finishing equal first with 28 match points for the season, though placed second to CAC on count back of total league points scored by all althletes. Congratulations to Dave Cooke who finished in second place at the European Paratriathlon Championships in
9/10 July English Schools T&F Championship, Birmingham. Charlie Maclean, Issy Jeffs and Robin Danahar win Gold at 
National Schools , with Silvers for Ronnie Wells and Blair Brown. A further eight TAC members were selected to compete for Somerset at this prestigious event with many National Standard performances, and helped Somerset to have their best ever team performance to take the C -Counties Trophy . Sat. 6th Feb - Somerset Schools XC - Tauton Racecourse.
Many congratulations to all of you who competed at the Somerset Schools XC Senior Champs and gained selection to run for
Wed. 3rd Feb - 2009/10 Minehead 3 mile road race series . Competition in the Sen. Mens race is hotting up between TAC members Ollie Berry and Mark Hopkinson for the overal SM title. Ollie won this February race, making it two wins a piece with just the March race to go. In the U17W Rachel Langbein running for TAC gained her 4th straight win to take the series. Full results here.
Sunday 17th January - Cardiff Cross Challenge. The race to the 2010 World Cross Country Championships started in style at the Cardiff Cross Country. Several TAC athletes travelled to pit themselves against high class competition. Click for UKA Report and Provisional results.

6th Dec. 2009 - TAC host Avon & Somerset Champs (incl. Gwent XC League) at Hestercombe.
Taunton achieved no less than 10 County Medal winners at this well attended event. County Champion's (gold) medals went to Blair Brown (U17M), Holly Brown (U13G), Rowan Preece (U15B); with Silvers – for Harriet Rogers (U15G), Richard Caburn (MV40), Luke Reynolds (U13B), Connor Banks (U15B), and Bronze – for Mark Hopkinson (SM), Hannah Taunton (U20W), Simon Cooper (U17M).

Amongst a field of over 600 finishers category winners from Taunton AC included Luke Scott (1st overall and SM); Martin Pearse (1st M45 , 7th overall) ; and Rachel Heard (1st SL). Full results here.
6 Sep'09 Taunton AC crowned Southwest Athletics League Champions for 2009.
Following the final Division 1 SWAL League Match on Sept. 6th, Taunton clinched the SWAL Championship for first time in the history of the club, finishing just one league point ahead of Cornwall AC for the season. Taunton AC needed to finish at least second in this last T&F match held at Exter arena, having won one and been placed second in two of the previous matches. A strong turn-out and some brilliant performance by our athletes helped TAC to finish a good second on the day to Cornwall ahead of last years winners Yeovil in third, and taking the overall 2009 Division 1 Trophy for Taunton. July'09 - Recent National Successes:
Massive Congrats to Hannah Taunton on winning the 1500m at the National Disability T&F Champs in Blackpool, with a PB of 5.29.
And to Blair Brown who finished 6th in the English Schools Champs (Inter-Boys) 1500m Steeplechase with new PB of 4.33 . Full results link to T&F'2009 ESAA
12 July - Taunton AC member Mark Hopkinson came 1st in the annual 7mile multiterrain Beacon to Beach race at Minehead in ahead of a field of over 275 runners. Full results link click here.

July'09 - Taunton AC members win selection to National events:
Following their outstanding recent performances 5 members of the club were selected to represent Somerset Schools at the Aviva English Schools Track and Field Champs at the Don Valley Stadium in
Congratulations also to Hannah Taunton, who following trials in Bristol has been selected to run in the 1500m event for the Southwest team at the National Disability Championships in Blackpool the week-end of 4th and 5th July.

May 8th - Somerset County Championships - Well done all TAC athletes who competed for TAC or their schools at the 2009 County Track&Field Champs held on 9 May. Numerous outstanding performances by TAC members included new county best performances for Robin Danahar in the U17M Javelin, Blair Brown U15M 1500m steeplechase, and Izzy Jeffs in the U20W Javelin.

26 March 2009 - Third Somerset Schools out of season Jumps, Hurdles and Distance Fest is coming up at Taunton AC THIS WEEK- For U13 to U20s inclusive, events will include High Jump, Long Jump, Triple Jump (not u13), Sprint Hurdles, 600m and 1200m . 6 Dec'08: Avon & Somerset Champs, Blaise Castle. Despite only a small TAC contingent making it to this event (in lovely winter sunshine for a change!), TAC athletes came home with 7 Somerset county championship medals: Congratulation on their medals to Holly Brown 1st U13 Girl; Simon Cooper (1st) and Isaac Taschimowitz (3rd) in U15 Boys; Harriet Rogers (3rd) in U15G, Laura James 1st in U17 Girls, Rachel Heard 2nd in U20 women, and Gordon Faulds 1st in V50. Nov'08: National Achievement at Saucony English XC relays. Simon, Rowan, & Blair stamped Taunton AC's mark on this national competition when they finished 6th of the 88 teams competing in the U15 boys [full results]
Oct'08: - congratulations to Charlie Maclean on being named as the junior male English Athletic's Athlete of the Year for Southwest England. Among his achievements this season were 2nd at English Schools Champs, 3rd in UK School Games, and 3rd in the Home Countries Schools International;
Congtratulations also to Simon de Wilton named runner up for the England Athletics South West Coach of the Year award.
28 Sept'08: Taunton AC Runners excel at local 10K race: Four Taunton AC athletes finished in the top ten among a field of over 550 runners, who completed the Taunton 10K race this Sunday in glorious autumn sunshine.
