We are a thriving club catering for althletes of all ages and abilities from beginners to county standard and beyond.
The club has active Track & Field, Sports Hall, Cross Country and Road Running Sections.

July'09 - Taunton AC members win selection to National events:
Following their outstanding recent performances 6 members of the club have been selected to represent Somerset Schools at the Aviva English Schools Track and Field Champs at the Don Valley Stadium in
Congratulations also to Hannah Taunton, who following trials in Bristol has been selected to run in the 1500m event for the Southwest team at the National Disability Championships in Blackpool the week-end of 4th and 5th July.

May 8th - Somerset County Championships - Well done all TAC athletes who competed for TAC or their schools at the 2009 County Track&Field Champs held on 9 May. For full results check out the SCAA web-site here . Numerous outstanding performances by TAC members included new county best performances for Robin Danahar in the U17M Javelin, Blair Brown U15M 1500m steeplechase, and Izzy Jeffs in the U20W Javelin.

The first SouthWest Athletics League meeting ( 19th April ) was held on Sunday 19th at Yeovil - ..... and Taunton AC came 1st overall just ahead of Yeovil Olympiads ! For links to full results listings see our SWAL pages. Fantatistic performances all

26 March 2009 - Third Somerset Schools out of season Jumps, Hurdles and Distance Fest is coming up at Taunton AC THIS WEEK- For U13 to U20s inclusive, events will include High Jump, Long Jump, Triple Jump (not u13), Sprint Hurdles, 600m and 1200m . Congratulations to all our TAC athletes who following the SW competition 3 weeks ago, were selected to represent county at the English Schools XC Campionships In Leicestershire on Saturday 21st March : Junior Girls : Harriet Rogers, Emily Ruffel-Hazell Junior Boys Rowan Preece, Joe Merriweather, Connor Banks; Inter Girls: Isla Ness, Rachel Langbein; Inter Boys: Blair Brown, Simon Cooper; Senior Girls Rachel Heard, Laura James, Catherine Blew; Senior Boys Charlie Maclean, Tom Lawson. Full Results for all categories now at ESAA web-site. Well done all, and especially Somerset Senior Girls taking 2nd County overall & 1st in the size Group C counties!

6 Dec'08: Avon & Somerset Champs, Blaise Castle. Despite only a small TAC contingent making it to this event (in lovely winter sunshine for a change!), TAC athletes came home with 7 Somerset county championship medals: Congratulation on their medals to Holly Brown 1st U13 Girl; Simon Cooper (1st) and Isaac Taschimowitz (3rd) in U15 Boys; Harriet Rogers (3rd) in U15G, Laura James 1st in U17 Girls, Rachel Heard 2nd in U20 women, and Gordon Faulds 1st in V50. 30 Nov'08: Wessex XC League Race1, King's Park Bournemouth. Well done all who braved the cold and wet conditions, helping TAC to team wins in the U15 Boys and Senior Mens section and mainy other excellent performances. For provisional Results and rainy Pics click here

Nov'08: National Achievement at Saucony English XC relays. Simon, Rowan, & Blair stamped Taunton AC's mark on this national competition when they finished 6th of the 88 teams competing in the U15 boys [full results]
Oct'08: - congratulations to Charlie Maclean on being named as the junior male English Athletic's Athlete of the Year for Southwest England. Among his achievements this season were 2nd at English Schools Champs, 3rd in UK School Games, and 3rd in the Home Countries Schools International;
Congtratulations also to Simon de Wilton named runner up for the England Athletics South West Coach of the Year award.
28 Sept'08: Taunton AC Runners excel at local 10K race: Four Taunton AC athletes finished in the top ten among a field of over 550 runners, who completed the Taunton 10K race this Sunday in glorious autumn sunshine. 7 Sept'08: South West Athletics League - Final Match 4 at Exeter Arena. Taunton AC retain 4th Place for the season within SW Division 1 - Report & Results
July / Aug'08: TAC members 'medal' at English School's Champs. Izzy Jeffs and Robin Danahar both took gold in the U17W javelin and U15B javelin. Charlie Maclean claimed silver in U17M steeplechase - followed by further medals for Charlie and Izzy at the International Schools Champs and UK School Games. Read more
